Creating Opportunities
Through Dignity’s Education and Workforce Development Component the agency offers:
Adult Basic Education Program– Dignity provides free adult basic classes for all residents. Students improve their life skills, refresh their knowledge and gain the proficiency to take and pass the GED exam.
Workforce Development – Dignity provides workforce development workshops, work readiness training opportunities, and employment readiness supports through collaborative partnerships.
Children and Youth Education Program – Dignity provides an After-School Program that engages Dignity’s children and youth in positive academic, social, and cultural activities every day. In addition, the ASP includes a Brazilian Drumline that performs throughout the entire city.
Alicia Christian Scholarship Fund – Dignity has provided over $170,000 in scholarships to Dignity adults and youth to pursue their education goals.
Tenant Council- The Tenant Council works closely with staff at Dignity to review policies and procedures, plan special events and workshops, participate in advocacy efforts, and represent Dignity Housing in the larger community.
